GLASSLAT '98 - 5/98

by Yolanda Velasco

The Mexico City debut of GlassLat '98 lived up to the expectations of both exhibitors and visitors. The third edition of this international show was held March 4-6 at the spacious World Trade Center. Organizers say that more than 8,000 persons involved in the glass industry came together at this modern facility for GlassLat ‘98.

The fact that GlassLat was held in Mexico City this year facilitated participation of industry representatives from other regions of Latin America. A total of 113 companies from Mexico and abroad participated in GlassLat ‘98. Among those involved were manufacturers and service companies from Europe and the United States, as well as Central and South America.

A number of well-respected figures from international businesses contributed to the seminar program. Robert J. Pecorella of Northern Building Products spoke about doors and windows for the residential market. David Paczko of Edgetech offered an informative presentation on the evolution of insulating glass. Robert H. Lang of Billco talked about how maintenance systems are linked to safety and efficiency in daily plant operation.
